The little girl loved the water
And she only had one wish;
that she'd wake up one morn
and she'd have the tail of a fish.

to swim with a fishtail with many rainbow hues

have to wear a pair of shoes.
Her hair would be long and wavy
around her neck would be shells with an enormous white pearl
and on her rosey cheeked face
would be the sweetest smile
of the most beautiful mermaid girl.
When she woke the next morn
her eyes shed real salt tears and her heart lost a beat
Because when she looked at the end of her legs
There still were her two human feet.
